3 Reasons Why to Buy a French Door Refrigerator

February 6, 2018

With so many different kitchen options it’s hard to decide on which style of appliance works best for you and your family. For refrigerators the main styles are top-mount, bottom mount, side-by-side, and French door.

A French door design has two side-by-side doors on top that open into one refrigerator compartment. At the bottom, there is a pull-out freezer compartment. There are even different types of French doors. Some of the newer models have special doors in between the refrigerator compartment and the freezer compartment.  Here are 3 reasons why a French door refrigerator is a great choice.

1. Do you hate bending down to find things in crisper drawers way at the bottom of the refrigerator? Do you sometimes forget what is in there because you can't easily see into it? With a French door refrigerator you do not have these issues. The crisper drawers are high enough, and are actually in the middle of the unit which is easier for you to reach in and see into it easily. You now do not need to bend over. Having two doors to open the refrigerator compartment makes it easier to see everything in your frig. You can now eliminate having food go moldy way back in the corner.

2. Usable space is optimal in a French door style fridge.  With the 2 doors up top, the width of the fresh food section is the best possible set up! You can easily access your deli tray and your fresh fruit and veggie bins. The wideness of the refrigerator makes it easy to store cookie sheets or a large pizza!

3. Options.  French door fridges come in a variety of set ups that is customizable to your needs. You can choose 3-door, 4-door, or even a 5-door set up. The extra door options come are temperature controlled. With a 4-door, the lower right door can be used as a fridge or a freezer depending on your needs and can be adjusted.

Ultimately the choice is up to you, and there are several other options, but I hope we have made the choice a little easier! Let us know if you have any questions on finding the best option for you and your family!
